Update - Change to Travel Advice for Thailand - Thailand
Tuesday 08 June 2010 - 05:05
The Department of Foreign Affairs has amended its advice regarding travel to Thailand. They now advise travellers to exercise caution if travelling to Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
This replaces the previous advice, which advised against all but essential travel to Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
Political stability continues to be a problem and the risk of further demonstrations remains, but life in both cities has largely returned to normal. The Thai government has removed the curfew formerly in place in Bangkok and 23 other provinces.
